Why so many questions?

I don't understand why when I first chose to come to Ohio State most people around me gave me such a hard time about it. I kept getting the same questions about why would I go to such a large school when I come from such a small town. Well thats exactly why I chose OSU, to get away from the small town life. I love the town I live in but I'm tired of everyone knowing every little detail of my life. I like being at a school where I don't know everyone and everyone doesn't know me. It's a whole new start and a whole new beginning for me. I now come to expect the same questions from about the same people, most of them just wondering why I would possibly want to go to OSU. I now just tell them because it's big and it's just a totally new experience that I have never had and it's totally opposite from anything before.

Elizabeth, a good start, but you are running pretty short here. I think the post relates to the theme, but to flesh it out, you could provide specific details of a time when someone hassled you about choosing OSU. 3/5

Hello! This is Marlene from your English class. I know exactley what you are going through, because I too am from a small town. Too small as a matter of fact. Good old Warsaw, OH. I wouldn't be surprised if you never heard of it. I have the same urge you have. I just want to get out! I currently live in the dorms and it's such a better experience. I too had to deal with people knowing everything about me or think they do. I just had to deal with a lot of close mindedness. I come from a very racist, homophobic, lifeless town. It is just unbelieveably pathetic. If I want to go anywhere, I have to drive 45 to a hour to get to civilization. The closet town is about 15 minutes away and we really don't have much. People from college would ask me, what do you do for fun down there? All I could literally say is, hang out at Wal-Mart! We have very little there. Now after me telling you I know how you feel, I'm going to comment more on your blog. I think you got a great start. It's a little short but I'm sure you have a lot of potential. I like the entire look to your blog. Well, keep up the great work. :-)

What a scary transition from small town Ohio to enormous central Ohio! The experiences of your college years are priceless, and it seems that these experiences will be very different from what you are used to. Don't feel you need to justify this transition from small town to OSU; you are at a GREAT school that will provide you with MANY opportunities! Best of luck at OSU.
